Reunion Highlights

MCB 11  had its first battalion reunion September 23-26, 2004 in Branson, MO;
with 69 members plus 54 guests registered.

Friday was spent seeing many of the sights Branson has to offer and Saturday was filled with a short business meeting for the members, a special Ladies Tour
for our guests and a lot of time to get to know one another.

An honor guard of Korean Veterans presented colors
at our memorial service Friday afternoon.

Following Saturday’s business meeting Bill Hilderbrand talked to the group about the new Seabee Museum being built in Port Hueneme, CA and what it will cost. MCB 11 pledged to raise $10,000 towards its construction cost. Over $11,600 was raised before the evening’s end.

Following dinner Saturday evening our speaker was LTJG Glenn Eberhart. Glenn currently serves as NMCB 15’s ‘H’ Company Commander, a Missouri based reserve unit. Last year he served in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He talked about how the Seabees operated in Iraq and the many tasks they did while there.

As the youngest Seabee in the room, Glenn and his wife Gina wasted little time before showing us what a CB Can Do.

The Air Force 454th Fighter Squadron, also having their banquet
in Branson and acting in the spirit of hospitality, shared their
band with us.

Art Kummer and Sam Di Salvo and their beautiful wives Marian and Vida showed everyone age is only a number.
