Served with MCB 11 from 1965 to 1969, joined the battalion as an EO1 and left as an EOC.
I joined MCB 11 as an EO1 in May 1965 while they were on Okinawa.  Just before departing for Danang I was promoted to EOC.  I was in charge of the covered storage site preparation.  In Dong Ha I was in charge of the crew
that maintained a 40 mile segment of Highway One.  In 1968 I served as AOIC of Seabee Team 1111 in Thungsong Thailand.  After returning to Port Hueneme, I met my wife (Donna) and we were married in April 1969.   leaving In June 1969 I transferred to Naval Schools of Construction, Port Hueneme  Where I served a three year tour at the Equipment Operators school  as an
instructor for advanced earthmoving operations in Rose Valley.  Then I went to Taipei Taiwan for three years where I served as the transportation operations Chief.  After Taiwan I returned to EO school where I was promoted to Senior Chief and served as the Director of the school.  I finished up my 26 year career with a one year tour on Diego Garcia where I served as the Leading Chief of the Public Works department. Upon retirement from the Navy in October 1979 I began working for a Government Services Contractor as a consultant to the Navy on amphibious operations.  Went to school at night eventually earning a Masters Degree in Organizational Management.  When the contract ran out I was selected to work in a newly formed office where we supported the Air Force in their space programs.  I worked as a logistician on all of the Star Wars programs during President Reagan's years.  I am still employed part time working on the Global Positioning Program where I develop web pages and databases for the Air Force.
