I joined MCB 11 as a CE just as it was returning from Da Nang in 1966. I was assigned to Bravo Co..Just prior to departure to Dong Ha in 1967. I was one of two individuals temporarily assigned to the newly created Seabee Band. I rejoined the battalion upon its return and went with it to Quang Tri in May of 1968, initially assigned to HQ Company (someone said I knew how to type, didn't ask if I could spell). Prior to the completion of our permanent camp I was resigned back to Bravo Co. where I belonged. There were three major projects I worked on that I especially remember while there: a hospital, 5th Army Div. Camp site, and the pipeline to Hue. I was discharged from the service in January 1969 just after returning from Viet Nam as a CE2. I spent the last 32+ years working for Exxon Chemical in the Houston/Baytown area. I retired 4/1/2002 and moved just outside of Austin, TX enjoying spending time with my wife of 30+ years, a new grandbaby, and the Texas Hill Country.
