Men of MCB 11
What a terrific surprise, finding MC11 contact info on the web. After finding the site I sent messages to Jim and Mike Leatherman (was my tent mate in Khe Sahn) and Vince Streech (a CE3 who ran the central tool room at Don Ha).
I'm (mostly) retired from a 33  year career in international development. After the Navy I got married (9/9/1968) and then some education and went to work at the Stanford Research Institute in Menlo Park, CA. Stayed 20 years, then helped form a specialized consulting company. I have been able to travel the world (missing too much of the growing up time of our two adopted kids). I now have 4 grandkids, two living in the little house I grew up in Berkeley. My main hobbies are sailing (sailed to Mexico and back last year with 3 friends) and old car and boat restoration. I volunteer at the SF Maritime Museum working on old boats. I am still doing some consulting and just returned from 10 days in China (on Hainan Island, Gulf of Tonkin, 100 miles from Viet Nam). I haven't been back to our old haunts but would like to visit. I understand that Dong Ha is now a a very bid city, the Provincial Capital of Quant Tri Province (city of Quang Tri was leveled in the final NVA push to Saigon and was not rebuilt). Khe Sahn, I understand from a friend, is nothing but a large red smudge on the landscape where the runway that our detachment rebuilt used to be.)
