I joined MCB
11 on Okinawa in January 1960 as a 3rd Class Builder (Light) and was discharged
October 24, 1961 as a BUL2. Besides Okinawa I was on the Guam deployment and do
have the cruise book for that trip. I joined the Navy to be on an Aircraft
carrier, but ended up in the 'Bees and glad I did. There's just something
special about being a SeaBee. I always enjoyed head of the line chow privileges
whenever we came off the job site. We usually had our shirttails out, no hats
and barged right over the "airdales" and fleet rates.
