1968 |
I joined MCB 11 when they returned from Dong Ha deployment as
an Equipment Operator. I spent the whole Quang Tri deployment,
1968-1969, with them and upon return was discharged from the service. After
returning home in Feb. 69 to -40 degrees weather I thought I had made a mistake
leaving 11, but toughed it out and lived in Great Falls, until retirement and
now live in Plains, Montana. I worked for
U.S. Forest Service until spring of 1975 on a seasonal Hot Shot Fire Crew
traveling all over the country fighting forest fires, then I worked in the mines in
Wyoming for one year. After Wyoming I went to work for the government with the FAA
until retiring on Oct 2, 2002 with 31 years government service. I have enjoyed
working on the web site with my wife and meeting many new and some old Seabee
friends. I'm proud to say my son is a Seabee CE stationed at Port Hueneme with
MCB 3 at this time,
previously he was stationed at Camp David. I would enjoy hearing from any and all Seabees's.
