Francis Anthony Dubis

DUBIS, FRANCIS (FRANCISEK) ANTHONY Sole owner of F.A. Dubis Construction, LLC,
and a resident of Donaldsonville, he died at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 11, 2006, at
his family's home. He was 59, a native of Salzburg, Austria, and a U.S. Navy
veteran of the Vietnam War. Visiting at Ourso Funeral Home, Donaldsonville, on
Tuesday, June 13, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting at St. Francis of Assisi
Catholic Church, Donaldsonville, on Wednesday, June 14, from 8 a.m. until Mass
of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., celebrated by the Rev. Phil Spano. Entombment
in the church mausoleum. He is survived by his father, Walter (Wladislaw) Dubis,
Donaldsonville; daughter and son-in-law, Jeanne Clare Dubis and Barry St.
Germain, Donaldsonville; a son, Mark Anthony Dubis, Donaldsonville; five sisters
and brothers-in-law, Helen and Barry Carbo, Terrytown, Statia Cancienne,
Donaldsonville, Czeslawa "Sam" and Terry Manzella, Covington, Barbara and Paul
Grygor, Silsbee, Texas, and Theresa and Chad Cavalier, Pierre Part; two brothers
and sisters-in-law, William "Bill" and Janet Dubis, Baton Rouge, and Ted and
Darlene Dubis, Donaldsonville; two grandchildren, Bree Ann St. Germain and Jana
Rose St. Germain; and a special friend, Johnnie Simoneaux. He was preceded in
death by his wife, Clare Elmire Vetter Dubis; and mother, Irena Cioma Dubis.
Pallbearers will be Mike Manzella, Ben Cancienne, Andrew Dubis, Kurt Meduse,
Lynn Becnel and Chad Cavalier. He was a member of Babin-Haynes American Legion
Post 98. He entered the service in 1966 in the U.S. Navy Construction Battalion
11 stationed at Hueneme, Calif. He was deployed to Thailand in 1968 as part of
the Seabee Battalion 1111. He was honorably discharged in 1969. He and his
brothers operated Dubis Plumbing for nearly 10 years after his service time. He
was then sole owner of F.A. Dubis Construction, LLC, until the present time.
