David W. Karluk

David W. Karluk, 67, of Fillmore died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2006, in Ventura after a brief illness.

Mr. Karluk was born Feb. 28, 1939, in Scranton, Pa., and was a 37-year Ventura County resident.

Mr. Karluk owned and operated a local water treatment business for many years. He was a member of the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks, Ventura Lodge No. 1430, and the Fillmore Santa Paula Masonic Lodge No. 291 F.&A.M. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Mr. Karluk is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, R. Carol Karluk; son Mark D. Karluk of Santa Paula; son and daughter-in-law, Eric E. and Sara Karluk of Ventura; daughter and son-in-law, Keri L. and Ken Kitowski of Kenai, Alaska; stepson, Ronald C. Grimm of Stika, Alaska; grandchildren, Jake, Katelyn, Roman, Olivia and Adam; and stepgrandson, Tyler Grimm.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6, at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura.
