He enlisted in the Navy in February 1966. After boot camp, he was proud to be assigned to the Seabees and was sent to Port Hueneme, CA. Mike served three tours of duty in Vietnam at Danang, Dong Ha, and Quang Tri. He was serving in Dong Ha during the attack on the base, which resulted in the massive explosion of the ammunition depot. After his discharge from active duty in 1969, he worked as a land surveyor and then in construction. Mike lived in New Jersey all of his life.
Mike married Kathryn D'Imperio in 1967 and they had two daughters, Laura, married to James Livingston, and Wendy, married to Patrick Reilley. They also had three grandsons, Patrick, Liam and Colin.
Mike and Kathy divorced in 1991 and he remarried Desiree Cooper.
He died suddenly of a heart attack and is sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
